A People’s History of the Russian Revolution - Neil Faulkner Audiobook
Shared by:daenigma100
The Russian Revolution may be the most misunderstood and misrepresented event in modern history, its history told in a mix of legends and anecdotes. In A People’s History of the Russian Revolution, Neil Faulkner sets out to debunk the myths and pry fact from fiction, putting at the heart of the story the Russian people who are the true heroes of this tumultuous tale. In this fast-paced introduction, Faulkner tells the powerful narrative of how millions of people came together in a mass movement, organized democratic assemblies, mobilized for militant action, and overturned a vast regime of landlords, profiteers, and warmongers.
Faulkner rejects caricatures of Lenin and the Bolsheviks as authoritarian conspirators or the progenitors of Stalinist dictatorship, and forcefully argues that the Russian Revolution was an explosion of democracy and creativity—and that it was crushed by bloody counter-revolution and replaced with a form of bureaucratic state-capitalism.
Grounded by powerful first-hand testimony, this history marks the centenary of the Revolution by restoring the democratic essence of the revolution, offering a perfect primer for the modern reader.

BS. These jews killed millions of Whites. What most people don’t know is that jews have hated non jews for thousands of years, we have expelled them over 100 times for their crimes against us, but they are so sneaky and powerful they keep coming back and doing the same thing and it never ends… The great American Henry Ford exposed them too, but they have so much power in America, most people don’t know about his books. You can read them for free here:https://archive.org/details/TheInternationalJew_655
Download it and share it before “they” have all of these books removed.

I also have to warn my American brothers and sisters that these communists are bringing down America eas I type this message. Antifa are proud commies, just google antifa commies and you will see they are the very decendants of the depraved commies in this book. Antifa is just one of many more groups and they are all funded and full of you know who…jews. Take care friends.

As an Austrian who sadly must acknowledge having had ancestors infected by the above-commented anti-Semitic fanaticism, I thank you, daenigma100, for continually uploading these intellectually engaging books. We must learn from history and this can only be done by examining different points of view, whether they challenge us or not. Knee-jerk hatred is lazy and dangerous.
On a side note, I would not be at all surprised if you, daenigma100, were to upload the upcoming “Lenin: The Man, the Dictator, and the Master of Terror” which provides a somewhat contrasting view of the Russian Revolution to Neil Faulkner’s. Knowledge is indeed power.

‘Faulkner rejects caricatures of Lenin and the Bolsheviks as authoritarian conspirators or the progenitors of Stalinist dictatorship’
So I guess the estimated 10 million dead in the original Russian revolution was just people falling over dead for no reason what so ever… right.
Also: screw the antisemitism…. that’s just dumb when you have people that are trying to rewrite the stories of butcherous scum so they can try to have another revolution.

I will not participate in the discussion above. I will note that, based on the number of completed downloads, a few of us are interested in what the author has to say. Thanks to the uploader for making this audiobook available.

This seems like trotskyist tripe. Remember Kronstadt and the other crimes of the trotsyists (=stalinists who didn’t win) committed against the independent working class organizations and committed fighters for freedom.

Thanks for sharing the book, and the opinion in it,although I still completely disagree with it,
The actual peoples revolution was the February Revolution, this involved reforms without secret police and state terror, Lenin destroyed this revolution with his October Revolution which the Bolsheviks initiated after they lost an election. Then came state terror, secret police, purges, imperialism towards neighboring countries like Poland and Mongolia.
Lenin was a Stalin before Stalin, he crushed anything the people themselves actually established themselves,he is no hero

@EvilIsaac- Sorry, bud, but Lenin, for all his faults (which were many and depraved) was no Stalin. Stalin was responsible for over 50 million deaths in the USSR and Eastern Europe. Lenin would have certainly set up many of the same secret police, would have sent his enemies to the gulags of Siberia, or just taken out back and shot. Lenin himself makes the point in his own words- that Stalin should be removed from his position as Secretary of the Party in favor of Trotsky, who would almost certainly behaved as Lenin did. All three were individual examples of human evil, but of varying degrees. Stalin was by far the worst. Yes, Lenin and Trotsky would have killed a great many, but Stalin’s repeated purges (including the Doctors Purge, which handicapped his own treatment after his first stroke because all of the best doctors in Moscow were dead) show the true depth of Russian evil. Lenin and Trotsky were much less demonic, though demonic they certainly were.
