The only thing Trump won was the booby prize of “Most Unpopular President Ever”. His national approval ratings never reached 50%, his highest rating was in his first month, when he was still largely an unknown quantity as POTUS, and his average rating over 4 years was 38% ie 62% DISAPPROVED!

I suspect what people may have missed about the Trump strategy is that if he had won the election, it would have been much more difficult to mount a coup. (The fact the coup failed doesn’t mean it wasn’t the plan all along).
And of course, whatever Trump’s failings, we now know what a faith-based presidency looks like.
