A behind-the-scenes book about the Uluru Statement From The Heart, from the co-chairs of the Uluru Dialogue, Professor Megan Davis and Patricia Anderson, AO.
The Australian story began long before the arrival of the First Fleet.
We Australians all know this.
We have always known this.
Australia finds itself standing on the edge of a 60,000-year-old precipice. The Uluru Statement From The Heart respectfully asks for First Nations people to finally be given a Voice—but what path led us here?
The story of the twelve Regional Dialogues and the Uluru National Constitutional Convention has never been told. It is a yarn borne from centuries of struggle, full of vision, determination and courage. These community gatherings, led and attended by fifteen hundred everyday First Peoples, represent the largest ever consultation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in history. The unanimous result was the Uluru Statement From The Heart, and its call for Voice and Makarrata.
Our Voices From The Heart is the official celebration of the grassroots campaign that guided us to this inspiring moment in Australia’s history. It is a profound call to action for the nation, but is also an offering of peace and unity that recognises the past and reconciles it with the truth.
Filled with powerful never-before-seen photography and helpful information to share with friends and family alike, this book charts the world’s oldest living civilisation’s ongoing fight for constitutional recognition and is destined to become a treasured keepsake for years to come.
It’s time, Australia. History is calling.

They already have a voice, which they have squandered and wasted to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars, so this will be 10x worse. This is a very thinly veiled statist power-grab. To think people put stock in this with the backing of the far-left criminals in power?

There is currently 111 different Indigenous committees/advisory groups who receive over 33 billion dollars per year. Have these groups made a difference to the living standards of Indigenous groups in remote communities? has the gap closed? The voice will advise government on any policy which could affect indigenous people, thats every policy. How much red tape is this going to add to government? Australia is made up of immigrants, all Australians are equal, why should one race be given their own special voice to parliament? Yes indigenous Australians should be recognized in the constitution. But this ‘voice’ a terrible idea. A better idea is to audit these existing 111 groups and find out why the 33 billion is not making a difference, where is the money going?

@M_l_R thank you MLR, I could not have said it better myself. It hurts to see the plight of some of the original people, often ensnared in drug or family abuse, with all those billions being squandered and ending up in someones pocket. When you see a young child sniffing solvents, you can’t help but be deeply moved to want something positive to happen for them. It’s horrifying that it is just another example of a parlor con to grab more power and fleece pockets, in the wake of the biggest betrayal in history in the form of the scamdemic
