This essential playbook reveals the winning strategies for successfully fighting a radical woke agenda in your kids’ schools.
Ian Prior is one of the most articulate and successful parent-activists in the United States. Armed with 12 inspiring battle-tested rules and revealing stories about sparring with self-righteous Woke neighbors (the “Chardonnay Antifa”), Ian shares secrets about what fellow parents can do in their own school districts to stop the Left’s dark vision from taking root.
Get ready to laugh. This is not a boring education book. With real world lessons and funny anecdotes readers can connect with, Ian explains how families can win the battle to stop divisive and dangerous concepts rooted in critical race theory and other dangerous left-wing ideologies from spreading to their schools. He convincingly makes the case that the Left envisions a public education system in America where children are no longer the responsibility of their parents but rather mere wards of the state.
You’ll be shocked and amused by the outrageous stories in Ian’s suburban county that unexpectedly became ground zero for the parents’ rights movement. This sign-of-the times book helpfully explains the confusing and infuriating cultural moment we find ourselves in.
Parents of the World, Unite! is an indispensable book for American families who believe they should be able to raise their children without government interference in their moral, religious, and ethical choices — and are ready to join a revolution of parents.

Oh, well, I can picture the author hugging himself in awe. Americans really should mention utter stupidity in their anthem somewhere.

Agenda to educate children to facts and not farie tales taught them by inbred parents that watch Fox news 24/7.

Was going to download for a laugh. Files are there - seeds must’ve dried-up. Haha. April Fool’s.

So basically how can we stop our children being educated to be kind, free thinking individuals with critical thinking abilities and instead turn them into gun toting paranoid freaks like their parents are.

Much of this contention could be avoided if alterations to the curriculum are developed in consultation with parents’ representative bodies.

@mayasecret - yes, because we’ve all seen what happens when you refuse to toe the government line in Canada.

While Americans are consumed with gun rights and drag queens, China is gearing up for World War 3. Maybe that’s what it will take to bring this country back together.

It might not be a coincidence that Loudoun County, Virginia, has become the epicenter of the debate over “critical race theory” in schools: One of the parents leading the fight isn’t just some mad dad—he’s a top national Republican operative. And Virginia just happens to be hosting 2021’s most important election.
Ian Prior has presented himself as a concerned parent in his numerous speeches and television hits speaking out against CRT. But he’s also a well-known veteran GOP strategist who served as then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ spokesman from 2017-2018.

Parents should have very little input into what school curricula their children learn. If these parents were qualified to dictate to educated educators, they’d either be teachers or home school their child. For the vast majority of breeders without the intelligence for the former and means for the latter, they need to be happy with the free babysitters they receive and help with homework until the point where the math and English worksheets are too complex for them to help any longer. Maybe read them a story before bed.
Despite their meddling, their children will mostly grow up to be better people in a world more tolerant of those not asking for anything but the dignity to live their own lives without discrimination, be it because of skin tone or sexual orientation. For people like the author, the status quo isn’t good enough and they are so focused on their own “common” individuality that they are mostly oblivious to the big picture…and the fact that their commonality is an illusion. Take the word ‘woke’. Get a group of idi–uh, people–together and they will unite against wokeness. Ask them to define it and none of them can but they *feel* what it means and come to find out their all just a bunch of bigots believing they found a way to be such without outing themselves. It doesn’t work and they aren’t even the same kind of bigots. Some would be quite woke to others of the anti-woke crowd.
It’s stagnant and antiquated thinking like theirs that we won’t miss when history swallows them and they are, thankfully, all forgotten as the individuals they so clamored about and instead are summarized in a cautionary chapter about people doing too much opining without much upstairs. Woke is this time-period’s abolition. Too many just don’t understand (and are too dumb to have learned) how history remembers all those anti-abolitionists.

They’re, not their. They’re all just a bunch of bigots. So frustrating when proofing doesn’t catch the obvious.

I dont think anyone commenting here has a clue about what the parent’s are angry about. I have seen these books they are trying to get out of schools. It shows sexual encounters like anal sex, blow jobs and adult men being “serviced” by children. I dont know how many of you, if any of you, have seen this, or maybe you promote the sexualization of children and pedophilia, because that is what is happening. I have even seen speakers at colleges in Ca trying to say pedophilia is natural and calling them Minor attracted people. So if you like some old guy fondling your yo0ungf children, keep saying how wrong this book is.
And as for critical race theory, I see there is great importance in making everyone aware of how awful slavery is. But using it to tell everyone that white people are evil, and fundementally racist, when it was the blacks who were the enslavers of their own race is mindless idiocy. And Africans sold millions of slaves to Turkey and the middle east for hundreds of years before they sold them to Europeans, and it was the Europeans who abolished slavery when Africa and the middle east continued it for a long time. Africa still has slaves today and sells to places in the world.
So yea, this book is warning us of a growing trend to brainwash and indoctrinate our children that is going to turn the USA to another China/Venezuela.

Left out the parts where they accuse teachers of being groomers, remove books from libraries, insist that history must be purged of any events that make them feel uncomfortable, lay siege to their opponents’ homes, threaten them with death until they resign so far right ideologues can take control.
Left out that the panic about CRT was deliberately created by Christopher Rufo, a GOP strategist, to demonise any and all references to black history and civil rights.
And also left out these “parent activists” are coordinated and funded by charter school PACs with the obvious intent of defending and degrading public education to advantage their sponsors’ schools.

“The world” you just know every time an American says the world, they really mean America. 90% of Americans know nothing about the world and have never seen it. which is why they don’t immigrate, regardless of the hundreds of mass shootings a year. #Brainwashed

“I dont think anyone commenting here has a clue about what the parent’s are angry about”
Neither do the very small group of complaining parents. Did it not occur to you that many of us are parents, parents who don’t buy the hysterical right wing propaganda. Give it up, pretty much every claim you made was utter horseS
Not looking forward to it but I will be listening to this book because its important to know what the lunatic fringe is up to.

@Malachie - Can’t agree with u on this, Mal: “Parents should have v little input into what school curricula their children learn. If these parents were qualified to dictate to educated educators…be teachers” - The same argument could be (and was) used against extending the democratic franchise. What can common people like us really tell professional politicians & technocrats? We ought then have no influence whatsoever, in that case.
The resolving of this avoidable controversy seems to be in substantive parental consultation & cooperation with the necessary representative bodies, when alterations to the curriculum are being proposed & developed. People will be inclined to balk at what are perceived to be ideologically-driven impositions cloaked as educational initiatives.
In any event, this seems to be a distraction from some very real difficulties in state schools over there. I wish genuinely factual history was taught everywhere (more work also needed in this area in places like Britain, Russia, the Arab World, Japan, Austria, etc.) There needs to be a greater stress on actual literacy & numeracy, given the statistical educational outcomes.

In a perfect world, parents wouldn’t need to coordinate school curricula with teachers and administrators because they’re getting, more or less, the same education that [the parents] did when they went through school. Couched in all the ‘parents rights’ rhetoric is the underlying principle that bigoted parents beget bigoted children and they aren’t happy enough with that anymore. They want all kids to learn the “right” history, for instance, history that, statistically, they didn’t even really learn themselves because “history is boring” or “history is hard”.
My underlying outrage comes out when education comes up and it makes my position rather intractable; we [the U.S.] have measles again because of anti-vax parents. MEASLES! That’s not even casting stones at those other antivaxxers who, for dumb inarticulate reasons, not only chose not to vaccinate themselves but wanted to make sure that they were free to spread a deadly disease to whomever they wanted whenever the mood struck them. The same kinds of parents that disrupted school board meetings and stood on picket lines (instead of helping their kids with school work), demanding the return of free childcare. In no universe should the parent of a child with measles ever be able to decide what books my child reads or what topics are discussed in class. They already failed their child and here we are serving up the opportunity to fail mine as well. The less “democracy” in education, the better, especially when the voices are self-serving bigots happy that our kids will be dumber as a result of their meddling.

Look at the wolves come out!
I guarantee none (90% at least) of these wonderful people have children of their own and that is why it is all the more disturbing to see them wanting to weigh in on this issue.
This is a perfect illustration of the problem.
PS there are some really bad people apparently visiting this site. Real monsters by the looks of it.
The key though is identifying them. This contributions has been very illuminating.

On education (primary) the US at the very bottom of the lists.
Our children are some of the poorest educated in the world across the spectrum.
I think if some of these people actually had children of their own they’d know that.
That is the problem when people who have no proper vested interest want dictate to everybody else how things should be.
It’s disgusting and perverse and they should be ashamed of themselves.
April 3rd, 2023
Well, here our constitution enshrines central, primary responsibility for children’s education to parents. And just to be clear, parental involvement has not resulted in apocalypse, we actually have some of the best educational outcomes in the world (highest 3rd level attainment in Europe). However, parental engagement is standard everywhere.
We don’t choose voters in the democratic setting, and we don’t choose parents. Consultation & cooperation ensures proper functioning. I would consider an education system without parental involvement to be utterly dysfunctional. Unfortunately, state schools in the US & UK seem to be at that level, in terms of elementary educational attainment.
We have a legal right to set up parents’ associations & membership must be open to all parents in the school. The association represents the interests of parents of children attending the school & promotes good relationships between parents & the school board of management, principal & teachers.
It also makes representations to the school on issues of policy, advises the principal & board on any matter affecting the school.
It adopts a programme of activities that will promote the involvement of parents in the management of the school.
Most schools have a board of management. They have a duty to ensure that the school is run for the benefit of the students & their parents; that an appropriate education is provided for each student at the school.
One of the responsibilities of the board of management is to promote contact between the school, the parents and the community. The Board also helps the parents’ association in its formation and activities.
As I say, standard stuff. Involvement of stakeholders is how these things get done. The problems that people run into in the US is bringing that left/right clown show into every conceivable arena. Most of those schools actually need to concentrate on basic literacy & numeracy.

Such unbelievable lies! Are you paid for this, or just doing it for fun?
April 4th, 2023
Oh, and it’s illustrative to be reminded of the utter junk rmoor posts other than history books. Although the history books often seem to reinforce the fallacy that the US wins every war it’s involved in.

@Hogweed, you are talking about the catholic church pedophilia right? Thanks for mentioning it.

“Much of this contention could be avoided if alterations to the curriculum are developed in consultation with parents’ representative bodies.”
So different standards of education in every school district in the country based on the whims of the parents alive at that moment in time?
You’ve outdone yourself caesar. There’s stupid and then there’s that statement. Your posts grow ever more headache inducing.
