It is bad enough seeing Russia = Putin = antiChrist on every television; every newspaper; and all over social media, and now a book. The Propaganda is incessant.
Ask yourself if you have seen any footage of more than six Russians in any video. Well balance reportage?
Any dissenting actual truth from this narrative is quickly suppressed, to be replaced by ‘is was Putin wot dunn it, innit’.
Any books on nato reneging on promises, lies and its creeping up around Russia; Maidan; eight years of shelling, rape and murder? Thought not.
A book, so well researched and well balanced, it has written and released within a month. Nothing to see here. Move along now.

The writer has been studying/observing/monitoring Russia for over half a century.
But I am sure Postlethwaite has been conducting a serious research study from the Qanon websites…..

I know, right? In the past I underestimated the danger of misinformation, assuming it culminated with people like flat earthers, but this QAnon garbage is scary. Like, how many thousands of hours of work and quality reporting are quickly dismissed in favor of whatever silly direction the Qanon wind storm is blowing?

Republicans need Putin, because once the sheep stop being frightened they get way more difficult to stampede.
Of course, they needed Osama bin Laden (same reason), which is why they will never forgive Obama.
I glanced at this book a few years ago, and thought it overestimated Putin and Russia in general (Xi has grasped the concept of soft-power, he is a far more formidable opponent).
But it might be interesting to review Stent’s position, now that we’ve seen that the Keystone Cops can be very unfunny in a real context.

That seems like an excessively optimistic frame. It’s likely a war of attrition, with the larger forces favouring Russia. They’ll probably break down each part of the country, piece by piece. As ever, there’s a sunk cost dynamic operating.

Americans suffer from reverse identity. They cannot function without these ‘Evil Doers’ and their evil nations to hold up and say this is bad. I am the opposite of this.
This is why the US war Dept/DoD is the single biggest institutional employer on the planet. Add in all the ‘defense’ contractors’ and their suppliers and it becomes crystal clear that if peace broke out for more than 48hrs the USA would go financially broke overnight and complete the trifecta - morally broke, spiritually broke & financially broke.
I think all the mass shooting of their elementary school children in the US is just target practice until they can come up with the next pretext for carpet bombing more little kids overseas.
