P’haps protesting, but then actually forgetting to register to vote might be a tiny flaw in the plan.
Or expressing concern about an issue of generational significance (Brexit), but then not bothering to vote on it. While continuously voting in twatter & online polls & X Factor.

LOL!! If voting and protest actually changed anything, they would both be illegal - as they both are in many countries.
In countries where they’re not illegal, there’s ALWAYS a group of angry, virginal, religious conservatives, brainwashed from childhood to go to war against whoever the government, religious leaders and military tell them to go to war against.
“We can’t forget our traditions!” is what the last living human will be screaming as everything burns around him….

If you don’t exercise your franchise, then someone else will do it for you. That Brexit vote directly effected the opportunities of the younger cohort of voters. They could easily have swung it - had they bothered. Instead, the day after the vote, the biggest googoo searches: “What is the EU?” - “What is a referendum?”
Consequently, complaining is utterly futile.
