What we ought to remind ourselves here, is exactly what we are dealing with, in the form of the self-important little entity calling itself Caesar963.
This person is a narcissist.I would have added ‘pure and simple’ but recalling Oscar Wilde’s epithet I would have to concede that while the Narcissist is simple in his non-nuanced and linear political beliefs, he is not, nor judging by his contributions to this site ever has been, pure.
Those audiobookbay members who are not au fait with the term Narcissistic Personality Disorder might prefer to acquaint themselves with the various unsavoury ways in which this particular personality disorder manifests itself.
The primary characteristic of a person with NPD is their desire to be recognised as superior in intellect to those in whatever milieu they choose to site (sic) themselves. They have a pathological need to excel in one way or another, irrespective of any ability. And they will not tolerate any other opinion than the one they have themselves declared to be definitive and beyond question.
To narcissists, their beliefs and opinions are self-validating. Like the popes of old and certain presidents of modern times, a thing is so because they say it is.
Viewed from such a perspective, any other opinion is ipso facto wrong, simply because the narcissist has not conceived of it or would have to examine and question their own cherished and inviolable beliefs even to begin to consider it.Easier to dismiss and deride than debate.
On every matter upon which the narcissist chooses to opine, they are the soi-disant ne plus ultra. Therefore anyone who has the temerity to hold an opinion at variance with a narcissist’s is perceived as a clear and immediate danger to their fiercely guarded sense of primacy.
They will blithely accuse others of flaws clearly discernible in themselves. And do so with a (Boris) Johnsonian lack of embarrassment or self awareness.
The Narcissist cannot be embarrassed. That is their armour and their Achilles heel.
Thus, they will accuse someone of passing others’ comments off as their own with little if any evidence save that they say so , while refusing even to address or acknowledge, examples of their own blatant plagiarism. As an example, the Narcissist known as Caesar963 copied and pasted recently, a paragraph straight from a right wing, CIA funded hate site as if it were a) true, and b) his own words. When it was pointed out, he ignored it and pivoted to another barrage of invective, heavily laden as usual with his trademark (so it would appear;he has a magpie’s sense of ownership) vituperative punctuation.
Characteristically, befitting a narcissist, his own wild arrogance allows him to play fast and loose with the written word, shortening some and concocting particularly loathsome versions of others (Jeewss being an especially vile example). But should any of his gainsayers drop a typo, he’s on it like a cat on a mouse, all snarl and claws.
Anything, in other words, to belittle his opponent.
I might feel sorry for him, if he were not so fulminatingly abusive towards others.

A pattern of needing to get in the last word can be driven by the need to feel better about him/herself by being ‘right,. It can also be a characteristic of narcissism and often reflect self-esteem issues.
Having the last word is closely associated with ego. Egomaniacs always have to have the last word. It gives them a feeling of power, as if they immediate draw all of the power of the person they are communicating with and become powerful due to it.
The feeling of wanting to have the last word is short-lived as it is only a state of mind, and most people who have any sense of understanding of human psychology knows that people that do this are only doing it because they feel insecure, competitive, hardheaded and lack confidence often in their own intellect or are in need of covering tracks.
A person who has to have the last word is fundamentally flawed. Their flaws are for the world to see. They may be charismatic and draw people in, but if you listen to their conversations and look at their posts, you will see a common thread of egocentricity and a need for supremacy.
People with this “disease” usually strive to be the only voice over the people around them. They often never rise to the top in their social milieu, hence they adapt their personal profiles so that they can be seen as “winning” in some area that they feel no one can compete.

A post refreshingly - and unsurprisingly - free of exclamations. He has chosen to curb them (as I predicted he would) since they were brought to his attention and their use was inviting ridicule. Because, despite the insinuations and accusations of hysteria he claims for his gainsayers, it is self-evidently The Narcissist’s own posts which display the greater and, unwittingly, sad expressions of ‘uncontrollable emotion or excitement’ (OED)

The Narcissist won’t hear of them. He cannot defend Washington’s wars any more than he can defend his own plagiarism. Where facts cannot be altered, The Narcissist ignores them. They don’t exist.
He chooses to portray himself as a strident defender of the USA, CIA, NED, FBI, EU, NATO and all the other overt and covert organisations currently leading the world towards Armageddon. That he shares this opinion with at least 90% of the members of this site is, as I’ve written before, fortunate for him. Had he an opinion to defend that placed him at odds with them, he would wilt like a weed in a drought.
There’s no sense to him but he cannot back out now.
Still and yet, it’s wonderful stuff for any observer of personality disorders. Particularly the ‘Oy’ flourish at the end. I doubt it’s a unique signifier but it’s unwittingly hilarious.

The Narcissist attempts to belittle any opponent who refuses to accept his dominance.
Sooner or later, every one who crosses (s)words with him encounters the point at which The Narcissist abandons all notion of utilising cogent argument, shuts the door on rational discourse and turns into a raging werewolf.
Or becomes, as Vincent Canistraro once said about The Narcissist’s idol Ronald Reagan’s understanding of foreign policy, ‘a brick wall’.
Loewe has decided not to waste his time on trying to convince the unconvincible. As I have, TBH.
My intention now is to draw light on his dirty tricks and inform members that he is just a bully who will say anything to win.
All The Narcissist wants, when all is said and done, is to win. Right and wrong are malleable abstractions. To that end a narcissist of the vulnerable subtype (which seems to be what we are dealing with here) will bully, belittle, impugn, impute, insult, lie, plagiarise, ridicule, deny, gaslight and deflect. He/she will use any method to bring down a gainsayer, regardless of the validity of his hers or their point of view.
The Grandiose Narcissist has no difficulty adopting the same techniques but typically will not spring so readily to anger and aggression. The latter two are dead giveaways.
Both types are cunning. They will poke, prod, goad, jeer, mock, and do everything in their power to provoke a response –
- and then pivot. Back to the original source of the argument in order to make theirs seem the rational voice.
