A recent poll showed 43% of Americans think more socialism would be a good thing. What do these people not know?
Socialism has killed millions, but it’s now the ideology du jour on American college campuses and among many leftists. Reintroduced by leaders such as Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the ideology manifests itself in starry-eyed calls for free-spending policies like Medicare-for-all and student loan forgiveness.
In The Case Against Socialism, Rand Paul outlines the history of socialism, from Stalin’s gulags to the current famine in Venezuela. He tackles common misconceptions about the “utopia” of socialist Europe. As it turns out, Scandinavian countries love capitalism as much as Americans, and have, for decades, been cutting back on the things Bernie loves the most.
Socialism’s return is only possible because many Americans have forgotten the true dangers of the twentieth-century’s deadliest ideology. Paul reveals the devastating truth: for every college student sporting a Che Guevara T-shirt, there’s a Venezuelan child dying of starvation. Desperate refugees flee communist Cuba to escape oppressive censorship, rationed food and squalid hospitals, not “free” healthcare. Socialist dictatorships like the People’s Republic of China crush freedom of speech and run massive surveillance states while masquerading as enlightened modern nations. Far from providing economic freedom, socialist governments enslave their citizens. They offer illusory promises of safety and equality while restricting personal liberty, tightening state power, sapping human enterprise and making citizens dependent on the dole.
If socialism takes hold in America, it will imperil the fate of the world’s freest nation, unleashing a plague of oppressive government control. The Case Against Socialism is a timely response to that threat and a call to action against the forces menacing American liberty.

Is this the same guy who had covid and went to work cause it was his body and his choice?

See: Jeff Bezos hoarding $billions and subverting the country by demanding more immigration to get cheap labor and free votes for the democrats is not actually the biggest threat to America; free healthcare and increased taxes on the elite is. Good job Rand Paul, you really hit the nail on the head!

It is more than a little akin to kicking in the proverbial rotten door, at this stage in the game.

THank you Sir!
He’s an interesting man. Sometimes I totally disagree with him, but he does seem honest with his stances. (Too bad the President didn’t listen to his objection to hiring John Bolton.)

I don’t think the trackers on your torrents are working.

The usual suspects spouting their usual SJW tripe about something they haven’t read and wouldn’t understand if they did. (Contrary to their own brainwashing)

Personally, not interested. One mans socialism is anothers eldorado to another, a chance to stamp on who it’s supposed to protect (the middle class SJW for example), to another a threat

I may not agree with Ron Paul 100% of the time, but I respect him 100%.

Not Ron. Rand. It’s easy to confuse one with the other, they both smell like Kremlin agents.

The sweet irony of americans spitting on socialism on a peer to peer website is just to damn good

A lot of people mistaking Capitalism (A free exchange of money for goods/services), for Corporatism, (a corruption of power through the accumulation of money and monopoly and brown envelopes to politicians). Just because the latter is bad does not mean the former is bad and it certainly does not mean that Socialism is good (speaking as a victim of a socialist health service which spent seven years trying to kill me instead of doing the tests I begged them for).

Gave it a listen for the sake of intellectual honesty, and was not surprised to find it completely devoid of genuine argument or analysis. This book is a cash grab by a guy who rode his father’s coattails to fame and who has nothing to say. Go ahead and download here so you don’t give him any of your hard-earned money; he doesn’t deserve it.
When you’re ready for an actually insightful read on the relationship between capitalism, socialism, and fascism, check out Blackshirts and Reds by Michael Parenti.
