The shift toward automation is about to create a tsunami of unemployment. Not in the distant future - now. One recent estimate predicts 13 million American workers will lose their jobs within the next seven years - jobs that won’t be replaced. In a future marked by restlessness and chronic unemployment, what will happen to American society?
In The War on Normal People, Andrew Yang paints a dire portrait of the American economy. Rapidly advancing technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation software are making millions of Americans’ livelihoods irrelevant. The consequences of these trends are already being felt across our communities in the form of political unrest, drug use, and other social ills. The future looks dire - but is it unavoidable?
In The War on Normal People, Yang imagines a different future - one in which having a job is distinct from the capacity to prosper and seek fulfillment. At this vision’s core is Universal Basic Income, the concept of providing all citizens with a guaranteed income - and one that is rapidly gaining popularity among forward-thinking politicians and economists. Yang proposes that UBI is an essential step toward a new, more durable kind of economy, one he calls “human capitalism.”

Thanks for sharing for those of us who appreciate a logical approach that doesn’t support either of the extreme options. No communism, no fascism, it’s time for Yang.

Gonna need an update on the Whipped Cream extravaganza - don’t leave us “hanging” as it were…

I’m not in the Yang Gang but he’s one of only two Democratic candidates using their brain, but sadly neither of them has a hope of winning.
So let’s watch Sleepy Joe, Fauxcahontas and Crazy Bernie fight it out, just so that they can lose to Trump instead.

@asukazx13: please delete “Reupload .m4b format - Andrew Yang” from the Title slot, the actual title is long enough and the rest is redundant. We have separate slots for the author and file format. The title is just the title, not description. Anything else you think important can go in the “Description” text.
Same for your earlier upload https://politicalaudio.org/audio-books/obsidian-son-nate-temple-series-book-1-reupload-m4b-format-shayne-silvers. Please delete “reupload m4b format”.

@Gweilo, I read the post you linked which doesn’t actually address your complaint at all.
The “Reupload .m4b” is only on the posting here to differentiate this version from the other versions already present. I feel as though it is perfectly reasonable to have it in the heading.
Seeing as the search function works better by author than actual title. It’s really a nonissue here.
Both books I have uploaded have been reformatted into .m4b from the other .mp3 versions. I personally (and I’m sure there are others) prefer .m4b because it is easier to manage between sessions of listening compared to multiple .mp3 files.

@asukazx13 — I don’t see you have a login at the forum or I would contact you there. This area really is just for brief comments on the book. So please make a login there.
In the meantime:
I’m not making a “complaint”. I’m advising you of how we prefer that you format the info for the torrent. I wrote the linked page to explain that in detail. If it’s not clear, please advise what exactly.
1) I’m not complaining that you upload m4b. I’ve uploaded m4b torrents, it is the preferred format in fact. On the front page right now there are 6 torrents, 4 are m4b, and this is the only one that has “m4b” in the title. The file format should not be put in the title. We have a format slot and that is always displayed.
If you are rolling your own m4bs, if possible include a cue file with the torrent, it is usually an option and is useful to some downloaders.
2)Notice that the headline of the torrent page is made from the “Title - Author” data so here it is “… Andrew Yang - Andrew Yang” because you have put the author’s name into the title.
3) “Reupload” — no idea what you mean by that since you don’t explain what the one is that it replaces. It’s irrelevant, many books here are in multiple torrents, to say one is a “reupload” might just tell you it’s more recent, which you can tell from the date anyway. What happens in 2 years when someone else does a different version? Should they put re-reupload?
As I said, any other info, motivation, explanation; put it in the description.
This is a site devoted to audiobooks, not a general torrent site where you only have the title and stuff all the info into a long ungainly name. We have separate areas to put each bit of info. So try to just follow the format as almost to all other uploaders manage to.

@Gweilo, I actually just registered for the forum early this morning when I read your initial comment.
I get what you’re saying, I still disagree with it and think it’s superficial, I make the edit.
I feel as though the more egregious issue is the ‘Category’ selection.
It feels as though categories have been added in a way that they did not exist until certain genres were added. I feel as though it needs to be stream line and uniform.
‘Category 2′ options should depend on the selection of ‘Category 1′ for organisation purposed.
For instance, if the selection of ‘Category 1′ is Fiction, ‘Category 2′ should show specific genres of fiction, therefore one could select ‘Urban Fantasy’ or ‘Romance’.
‘Age’ section is appropriate. As is the ‘Category’ mod. However, additional section should be added for Adult Content possible a ‘NSFW’ or something of the like, with a second modifier to further describe why, for example ‘LGBT’, ‘Sex’, ‘Violence’, etc.
Because an issue I foresee happening is having a ‘Bestseller’ and it overlap with one of the other categories as well, whether it be ‘Violence’, ‘LGBT’, or ‘Sex’.
Below is a screenshot, that can be used as a template, for more specific and robust categorisation.

I hope that you and the admins take this into consideration.
