Sharing Reality: How to Bring Secularism and Science to an Evolving Religious World - Jeff T. Haley and, Dale McGowan Audiobook

Religion is a natural outgrowth of the intuitive ways of knowing that evolved with human culture. Although many people continue to find value in religious identity and community, intuitive knowledge has been eclipsed by a more effective way of knowing described as the scientific way.
Secularism is a better way of relating religion to politics, and is gradually replacing theocracy. Once you understand and accept the scientific way of knowing and this preferred relationship of church and state, you become agnostic and secular even if you continue to identify with and participate in religion.
As Jeff T. Haley and Dale McGowan argue in this audio, this isn’t some abstract dream. It’s happening right now.
Religion is in a continuous state of evolution, and beliefs, values, and practices are changing over time. All religions, including Christianity and Islam, can evolve to accept secularism and the scientific way of knowing to become agnostic, and even atheistic, without losing their essential value.
Haley and McGowan explain how you can help this natural process and share reality with your friends and family in a way that encourages religions to embrace the best of humanity’s knowledge and values.

The description sounds quasi-plausible, but the only problem is that the rational approach to science and the scientific method originated within the Church.
First Prize for the most supercilious title, as well.
Thanks anyway, enigma.

The description sounds like a cult spiel. They explain “how you can help this natural process and share reality with your friends and family in a way that encourages religions to embrace the best of humanity’s knowledge and values” or how to “evolve to accept secularism and the scientific way of knowing”. Creeped me the eff out! And I’m a scientifically oriented agnostic myself.
And it were Muslims who first invented the scientific method. Ibn al-Haytham in particular.

It’s redolent of a Scientology brochure - “Do you have a minute? Can I share some reality with you? If you’d just stop sacrificing that goat…”
The Muslims did make progress as they co-opted modes of thought that were current in the Christian lands they invaded and occupied (two-thirds of Christendom).
However, they did not advance in the theoretical sciences - they were successful in some applied sciences, like optics for instance.
For substantial development, you have to look to Roger Bacon, William of Ockham, Albertus Magnus, John Duns Scotus and many more. This is why the West developed and advanced so far ahead of the Islamic world. Although, not to be excessively provincial, in a broader sense the various disciplines and proficiencies did originate amongst the religious, much to the chagrin of writers like these.

For hundreds of years the only literate people in the Western world were products of the religious world. The Islamic “Golden Age” did produce novel theories, particularly in Optics. And all they used it for was to more acuratly point to Mecca. The Islamic world also gave us Al-gebra. But they didn’t do anything with it. They invented it and America showed the world what could be done with it. “Apollo 11″ is a great example of this.

This is not rocket science.
The growing body of scientific evidence shows clearly that the universe had a beginning and was designed.
Design can only come from a mind.
To disregard the science is up to each individual, to deny the science is merely irrantional.
