Not as right-wing tea-party-ish as you would think. Lofgren is a conservative & a never-Trumper, which is a point in his favor. He’s rejected the Trump movement hijacking of his Deep State criticisms of both parties.
Author Mike Lofgren’s comment on a recent NPR interview: “I am an independent who will not vote Republican until they demonstrate to me that they’ve purged Trumpism and that they’re a sane party,” he said.
