Not everyone is equipped to “look beyond individual experiences of body and mind to examine the social, political, and economic roots of trauma” on the level of the Founding Fathers, or even close.
To tinker at will with machinery of the most advanced and complex country on the world, not to mention using false premises as a foundation of such “examination”.
Pretty much like not everyone is equipped to design or re-design other complex structures like LHC (Large Hadron Collider).
But many can be convinced they are perfectly capable of doing exactly that.
So, let’s boldly go and reshape the country into our own image, using every excuse and “-ism” under the sun, surely it will work!
Hint: nope, it won’t.
Also, at some point and after breaking quite a few human-shaped eggs, the growing numbers of very disappointed and frustrated people will start asking uncomfortable questions like “Where’s the omelette?”

Just what we need: therapists reinforcing political paranoia in their clients. Whatever social factors may contribute to one’s personal trauma healing is still done on an individual level, and involves personal agency. It’s hard for me to imagine what good can come from bringing ideas of “social justice” into a therapeutic setting. “Everyone is racist and out to get you, you’re helplessly oppressed by an intractable system of white supremacy and weighed down by 400 years of generational trauma … every time you leave the house racist cops are out hunting you and your family. Feel better?”
I can only hope that this new breed of woke therapists clearly advertise their ideology so as not to waste the time and money of people - of any race - who actually want to get well.
